Although the final pH of the set cement is comparable to that of zinc phosphate cement, its biologic properties are excellent. Polycarboxylate Cement is ideal for patients with sensitive teeth and preparations that are close to the pulp.

The resulting cement adheres to dental enamel and is also used as a luting agent.
